Day 60 – The Defence Academy / Cranfield University

For many reasons it is important for me to retain a healthy and close relationship with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and on Friday (Day 60 of the BRIT 2012 Challenge) I walked at the Defence Academy http://www.da.mod.uk/ by kind permission of the MOD to complete my visit to the County of Wiltshire, including the Unitary Authorities of Swindon and Wiltshire.

The Defence Academy is the UK's Defence higher educational establishment. It is responsible for post-graduate education and the majority of command, staff, leadership, defence management, acquisition, and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civilian Servants, and for establishing and maintaining itself as the MOD's primary link with UK universities and international military educational institutions.
I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the Defence Academy and was delighted to meet hundreds of the civilian staff who work there and also military personnel and civil servants attending a wide range of courses.
Meeting civil servants at the Defence Academy
A super surprise was to see Major Pete Norton GC who is a great friend and BRIT Mentor.  Pete and I met when we were both going through rehabilitation at Headley Court and have remained friends ever since.  Pete is an inspirational man who I have always found to be wise, understanding, sincere and supportive.
With the inspirational Major Pete Norton GC,
a BRIT Mentor and a great friend
I finished Day 60 with 1554 miles to go.
Best wishes,
Phil
